Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa!

I am a slacker, and I have some serious guilt about that.  I know how much you all look forward to my silly stories and cell phone pictures.  I know, I am totally dragging my feet in getting you guys a new post.  I promise I have been busy at cooking away and am ramping up for my very first veggie CSA pick-up!

I have two more dinner recipes to make in order to complete said post, one of which I am making tonight.  I am only days away from my first PEACEFUL, un-scheduled, beach-side vacation in about 300 years.  Me and Oscar, the Wonder Wienie are heading to Cape Cod and I am trying to plan my grocery/recipe list.  Of course, I will be bringing my computer and plan to blog while I'm down there.

Commencing the Oscar photo montage:

I love my dog and his weird fascination with blankets.  He's the cutest dachshund ever...even cuter than all the dogs I grew up with: Mindy, Skippy, Rosie, or Cody, or my parents' current dogs (Ben and Bailey).  He is awesome.  Whiny and a bit needy, but awesome.  He loves me unconditionally, talks in his sleep, chases the cat around the house, burrows under blankets and licks hands incessantly.  What more could a girl ask for?  I have been asked to post gratuitous photos of my pets, so let it begin!

I would love to hear what you'd like me to cook while I'm on vacation!  I will have access to A-list Atlantic seafood (think clams, oysters, cod, lobster), my first summer meat CSA selection, and an abundance of farmer's market veggies.  Oh, did I mention I'll be dusting off my grilling skills?  Come on, you know you want to! Send me your wishes...I am listening!  Post a comment below.

  1. Great choice for the grill: butterflied leg of lamb with a plum glaze (an oldie but goodie Martha Stewart recipe)

  2. Ooh! Well, I don't have a leg of lamb on hand, but I might have to try this technique on a different cut. Thanks for the suggestion!
